Fabian Ah-Sing, of Cape Peninsula University Of Technology South Africa, has been named BHMFW’s very first International Student competition winner with his Haute Couture collection ‘Science of Chaos’!

BHMFW launched its worldwide search earlier this year to discover original and creative designs from the worlds up and coming student designers.

The judges were looking for a collection brilliant enough to be showcased on the BHMFW 2014 runway. After receiving hundreds of applicants it became clear that the judges had their work cut out when it came to deciding upon the lucky winner.

Fabian Ah-Sings designs were incredibly detailed and presented in a professional manner. The judges were incredibly impressed with his couture collection, especially his innovative use of materials and structured silohettes.

Birmingham International Fashion Week are looking forward to seeing his collection on our runway in 2014!

The reigning Miss Birmingham will be a special guest at Birmingham International Fashion Week this weekend, as she hands out an award to a budding young model.

Kris’ina Jagpal, who won the chance to represent her home city of Birmingham last year, will present a special prize for the The Face of Birmingham International Fashion Week 2013.

Birmingham International Fashion Week (BIFW) is teaming up with Inter Lens Model Management to help find people with the potential for a career in modelling, with the winner being named on Sunday afternoon and rewarded with a professional photoshoot and the offer of a contract with the agency.

Kris’ina Jagpal, who was crowned Miss Birmingham last March, certainly knows her stuff when it comes to style and is due to graduate from her fashion course at Birmingham City University this year. She has also graced magazine covers, starred in music videos and attended numerous glamorous events since winning the Miss Birmingham title.

She is also now helping to find her successor, with applications for Miss Birmingham 2013 now open. The search for Miss Birmingham is much more than an old-fashioned beauty pageant or modelling competition, judges will be looking for someone who can be an ambassador for the city and help to raise the profile of many worthy causes across the West Midlands throughout the year.

The competition is open to 17 to 24-year-olds who live, work or study in Birmingham or the surrounding area, but younger fashion fans can also get involved in the Junior Miss Birmingham contest, open to 13 to 16-year-olds. If you or anyone you know would like to enter, visit before March 29.

KAMEELION will be performing LIVE at BHMFW!

The talented young singer/songwriter who is only 20 years old, from Rhyl, in North Wales and performs under the name Kameelion. In early 2011, when he was just 18, he started writing/recording my own songs and got discovered and signed up by a top London manager named Albert Samuel. With quotes such as “Pet Shop Boys meets Calvin Harris”; his catchy melodies and honest meaningful lyrics makes 20 year old Kameelion a certain radio-ready act to watch out for in 2012 and is destined for chart success.

Kameelion is currently managed by London based Mission Control, who have managed and produced Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, Modestep, Fugative, Aggro Santos, Loick Essien and many others. After a hard working solid year of developing a fan base, writing and producing songs and performing across the UK. Over the past two years, I has been writing and recording music and my style is very much house/pop/electro and has been named in the press as “Pet Shop Boys vs Calvin Harris”.

I have developed an ever growing fan base in the UK and even worldwide, over 50,000+ followers on along with the famous “blue tick verified” Twitter account. I have performed all around the UK, promoting myself to large audiences from fashion events, festivals, nightclubs to charity events. My album “The Boy Who Made Sounds” is on iTunes now, along with my single “Don’t Even Know Your Name”; which are selling well across Europe.

Kameelion will be performing live at Birmingham Fashion Week on Saturday 9th and Sunday the 10th March! Please check the show schedule for full details.

Times Red confirmed to perform for the audience at Birmingham Fashion Week next March!

We are excited to announce Times Red will be hitting the stage on both days of the event, with their great energy and amazing harmonies. The boys Scott, Staz and Luke have a great musical chemistry and passionate lyrics. They will be performing their brand new single, which is out on the 11 March. This is not to be missed!

Times Red are set apart by an honesty and an energy that hits you whether watching them perform, listening to their music, absorbing their lyrics or meeting them in person. Scott Ritchie (lead vocal, songwriter and guitar), Staz Nair (supporting vocal, songwriter and keys) and Luke White (supporting vocal, writer and beat-boxer) have developed a great musical chemistry by combining live instruments with tight harmonies. Following years trying to please others and months of soul searching, the end of 2011 saw a new era in for the band, resulting in refreshed authenticity and passion. Their frustrations are now harnessed into writing and performing their own emotive songs. Describing their feelings and experiences through verse, combined with honed musical talent, passion and vibrancy, the band are back having fun whilst developing as artists.

As Scott says, “Hard work and lots of effort have made us tight as a band and time and experience has made us the writers we are today, that said we are constantly improving…”

With great raw reviews from publishers and A&R alike, they have been described as, ‘The Script meets Bruno Mars.’

Catch them perform live on Saturday 9th March and Sunday 10th March. Check the schedule for full details!

See you there! xx
